Nicki Minaj is having one of the biggest years of her career, and she hasn’t even dropped her album yet. Upon release of the video, ass anthem “Anaconda” became Nicki’s highest charting song to date, on top of setting a VEVO record for most views within 24 hours.

With the release of her third studio album, The Pinkprint coming November 24th, the Young Rapper has been hard to miss. She’s set to host the MTV Europe Music Awards on November 9th, and today some new photos of a shoot she did for Men’s Magazine L’Uomo Vogue hit the net. The black and white shoot has Minaj decked out in some some uber trendy menswear-inspired looks, a little different than the designer gowns she’s been rocking on the red carpet recently. Check out more of the pictures below.

Nicki frequently commands attention for her out-there image. And, once again, Minaj has done exactly that in MTV’s teaser trailer for the forthcoming European Music Awards. The chart-topper revealed the video via her Instagram account on Friday morning, which was quickly ‘liked’ by more than 400,000 fans. Wearing a black, lace corset with a pearl necklace, the tongue-in-cheek provocative singer boasts an eye- popping cleavage.

In the promo, having achieved world domination thanks to her outstanding efforts as 2014 MTV EMA host, Minaj awakes on the morning after the show to find her image splashed across news headlines, billboards, video games and Russian laundry detergent products. Crazed fans are ordering ‘Double Nicki’ burgers and Minaj-inspired hairdos, and MTV has been rebranded ‘Nicki Television’. Last month, after first confirming she had been bestowed with the prestigious task of helming the 20th anniversary celebrations on November 9, the Bang Bang hit-maker shared several photos with fans from the accompanying shoot-as the queen of rap. And it’s just as regal as you would expect, the 31-year-old decked out in a voluminous black silk chiffon gown with gold embellished trim and a huge sparkling crown as she looks down her nose at her subjects. Nicki Minaj clearly commands attention in MTV EMA promo clip. Her gown features gold rosettes on her nipples as well as some additional ones scattered over her skirt and long sleeves. A huge gold necklace with bow centrepiece draws attention to her heaving bosom, though that is of course not her only decoration. She also donned a towering gold crown featuring what appears to be flowers on long stems, with pearl loops at either end that made it look as if she was wearing earrings. She holds a matching gold staff in one image while in another she’s resting her hand on a silver MTV EMA trophy. Her make-up is impeccably applied her cheekbones accentuated with bronzer, her eyes played up with dark smoky shadow and huge false lashes, her naturally plump pout painted in a contrasting matte scarlet hue. Taking to social media to reveal that she had been named the host of the upcoming event, she shared the first snap with fans in which she sits superimposed against an impressive ornate backdrop, the huge room featuring arched walkways, stone columns and a fresco painted on the dome ceiling. ‘So excited to announce that I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this year’s MTV European Music Awards!!!!!!!AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! The show will shoot in GLASGOW, SCOTLAND for its 20th Anniversary ON NOVEMBER 9th!!!!’ she captioned the pic. The following evening, she shared an additional two behind-the-scenes images from the ad as she sits in full costume in her ornate gold throne with plush red velvet padding against a green screen.

Almost everyone who uses a computer has dealt with this problem of “This device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again.” every now and then. This is the result that we get in the form of a pop up window while trying to remove an external media, like a pen drive or a hard disk, from the port of a computer by clicking the safely remove hardware button. But is this actually a problem? Most of:us simply plug out our devices without knowing the possible.risk they are unknowingly putting their data to and the potential threat that their media is being subjected to. This behavior can be because of three possible reasons:
Reason 1: They do not know about safe removal or quick removal and about its importance.
Reason 2:
Safe removal takes too much time.
Reason 3:
They have quick removal enabled in their systems. For both types it is better to know what this safe removal is and why is it so important. Well only those who have dealt with the results of this issue know how drastic they can be and they do not want to face them again. Just to make it brief, if not taken seriously you can lose all your data stored in the media permanently. Moreover your media (pen drive/ hard disk) might also get damaged beyond repair. Let us try to understand this concept and know about the possible solutions and the ways in which we can save our important data. Every storage media has a file system that it uses to store, retrieve and update data to and from the media. This file system is of grave importance for the working of the media. This file system manages the access to the content of the media, arranging storage space and updating the properties of your media contents with the properties of the system under which the media is being used (like when you select “ do not show hidden files ” then the ones in your hard drive also stay hidden). You can intellectualize this file system as a log that contains entries of data and associated operations on this data. When you are using a media on a computer, its file system gets updated as you perform operations on These operations include adding data to the media, deleting data from the media or updating data. Whatever the operation may be, it gets logged in the file system of the media along with other details like the location of the data. During safe removal, the operating system stops all such operations on the media so that it can be removed without disturbing its file system. The job of safe removal is to ensure that the drive is not being used by any program and that its file system is not being updated by that program. If the media is removed while it is being used by some application, there is a fair chance that the file system can get damaged. In that case, the data inside your media also gets damaged. Since the only way to find data in the media is this file system, it needs to be restored to a working state before it can be used again. Generally the operating system (windows in our case) detects this and can fix this automatically. You might have seen the scan and fix prompt by the operating system when you plug in your media. It is the way in which your computer tells you that your media has a corrupted file system and you should check it and fix it before use. Although it is optional and you can still use your media without any fix. But at times the problem is not that simple. Sometimes the file system gets badly that it is beyond the capabilities of your operating.system to repair it. Then you.are left with only two options; Format: A format can reset the media to its factory settings and can set the file system to its default state and it can then be used in a normal fashion. But the biggest problem is that you lose all your important data. Software Tools: There are many software tools that you fix this problem with your media. Although the chances are less but it is still a valid option. So now that we know what safe removal is, let us talk about the other problems. Some people say that safe removal takes too much time. “I did a safe removal request, and then I waited and waited but nothing happened.” It happens and this is another reason why people hate this safe removal because it never ends. But what could be the reason for this never ending??? The operating system needs to stop any operation on the media before it tells you that the drive can now be safely removed. But there are applications that are beyond the reach of operating system like your anti-virus. The anti-virus starts checking your media for viruses and this can go on for a long time without you suspecting it as it works in the background. Now when operating system checks for any application that is manipulating your drive or controlling it, it finds your anti-virus and gives you the message. “This device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again.” The solution is simple, if you get such an error try opening such possible applications, like your anti-virus, and check whether it is scanning this particular media. If so, stop this operation and try removing the media again. Another reason for this error could be an open file/folder or an application that is situated in your media. Just close this and eject your media, there will be no error. If any of this is not helpful, you are still left with a final shot in your gun – a proper shut down. Yes simply shut down your system and remove the media now, it is safe. This works because when the system shuts down it closes all the running programs, be it your anti-virus or anything else. So now you can safely remove your media without any fear of damaging it. But mind the word proper , do not just plug out the power or reset it, go for a proper shut down.

The countdown for Nicki Minaj‘s The Pink Print has officially begun. On Wednesday (May 21), the reigning rap queen released the album’s first single, “Pills n Potions,” and revealed part of her inspiration for the upcoming LP. “I think everybody knows how obsessed I am with Jay Z. He’s always been my favorite rapper — him and Wayne,” Nicki started to explain when she sat down with Big Boy’s Neighborhood on Power 106 in Los Angeles earlier today. “He did such a great job of creating this Blueprint brand for male rappers, I felt. And I studied a lot of his blueprint, just in terms of becoming a mogul,” Nicki added. Jay released his first The Blueprint album in 2001, a 13-track LP considered a classic by many rap fans. He then followed up with The Blueprint 2 a year later and The Blueprint 3 in 2009; the series of albums have become synonymous with the MC’s brand and help him become the businessman he is today. With The Pink Print, Nicki hopes to set her own standard in hip-hop. “I wanted to do that, I wanted to be like Jay Z. I felt like with what I’m doing, I want female rappers to be able to pattern themselves with what I’ve done one day,” she said. “And I think the album is soooo classic, it’s gonna feel so good and it will probably be one that female rappers will look to as a ‘pink print’ for years to come.” Female MCs will have to wait a little while before they’re able to get the full inspiration that Minaj is offering though. The Pink Print will be released on 24th November.

With her third album The PinkPrint due next month, Nicki Minaj unleashes her sexy style in the November issue of GQ . In the shoot by photographer Mark Seliger, the “cheeky genius” shows off her assets in a white angular bra and blue skirt while holding blue and pink poodles on a leash.

In between cat naps at Fashion Rocks rehearsals last month, the magazine caught up with the hip -hop mogul to discuss her early jobs in customer service and waitressing at Red Lobster (she was fired from the latter after she followed a couple who had taken her pen into the parking lot and then gave them the bird). She is also surprised by all the fuss over her “Anaconda” video, which has been watched over 250 million times on You Tube. “I just see the video as being a normal video,” said Nicki. But while the racy clip showcases her famous booty, the topic was off limits. The interviewer notes that she was warned to not ask about her ass (Nicki finds it degrading).

Read highlights from the interview below.

On her customer service job : “I like dealing with people, but I don’t really like a lot of bullshit, so maybe customer service wasn’t the best job for me.”

On her natural look:
“I always thought that by the time I put out a third album, I would want to come back to natural hair and natural makeup. I thought, I will shock the world again and just be more toned down. I thought that would be more shocking than to keep on doing exactly what they had already seen.”

On the video for “Anaconda”:
“I think the video is about what girls do. Girls love being with other girls, and when you go back to us being younger, we would have slumber parties and we’d be dancing with our friends.”

On the “Anaconda” cover art, which spawned a million memes:
“I just said I’ll put it out, never thought in a billion years that people would be putting [other] people’s heads on it. It’s the craziest shit.”

Some potentially good news for green architecture: Dutch scientists have designed a new type of concrete — and it sounds like something straight outta science fiction.

Henk Jonkers, a researcher at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, helped formulate a bio-concrete, a building material that seals architectural cracks with limestone-producing bacteria. Smithsonian Magazine breaks down the science:

Jonkers embeds the concrete with capsules of limestone-producing bacteria, either Bacillus pseudofirmus or Sporosarcina pasteurii, along with calcium lactate. When the concrete cracks, air and moisture trigger the bacteria to begin munching on the calcium lactate. They convert the calcium lactate to calcite, an ingredient in limestone, thus sealing off the cracks.

In other words, think of the human body’s ability to fuse a broken bone back together. Unlike broken bones, however, buildings using the self-healing concrete (thankfully) wouldn’t require a fugly, hot-pink cast that people feel compelled to sign. The concrete heals itself. Phew!

Turns out, a building can develop cracks in the concrete as early as the construction phase. Here’s Smithsonian Mag with more:

This innovation could solve a longstanding problem with concrete, the world’s most common construction material. Concrete often develops micro-cracks during the construction process, explains Jonkers. These tiny cracks don’t immediately affect the building’s structural integrity, but they can lead to leakage problems. Leakage can eventually corrode the concrete’s steel reinforcements, which can ultimately cause a collapse. With the self-healing technology, cracks can be sealed immediately, staving off future leakage and pricey damage down the road.

According to Jonkers, the bacteria can lay dormant in the concrete for about 200 years and still become immediately activated with moisture.

Jonkers’s breakthrough is potentially good news for the carbon-spewing concrete industry. Some estimates say that as much as 10 percent of CO2 emissions worldwide can be chalked up to concrete production. In theory, Jonkers’s bio-concrete would help extend the life of concrete buildings, preventing larger-scale rebuilds. Like many new technologies, however, the bio-concrete is really damn expensive — between $33-44 per square meter. Because of this, it has been test-driven only on a small scale. But, according to Smithsonian, Jonkers is working on a cheaper, sugar-based alternative.

Now whether said sci-fi sounding concrete will come alive to heal the cracks in humanity remains to be seen. In the meantime, I say we take our chances with our potential bio-concrete overlords.

Lil Wayne and Drake have dropped new single “Grindin”. The song was officially released on Aug. 8 (the kick off date of their Drake Vs. Lil Wayne Tour). The two Young Money rappers dropped the new track, a slow burning piano sampling ode to that everyday grind. The haunting beat of the track is highlighted by a repetitive, high octave piano with heavy drum machine beats keeping the pace in line. It’s intense music – not so much for a party, instead hyping listeners up for a big event, be it a fight or a massive joint tour. Wayne sounds as stressed and high pitched as ever, getting a little singsong-y with his rhymes over the intense beat, resulting in a very ominous single. Drake follows in line with Wayne’s flow, almost becoming undistinguishable from his mentor. Matching his high voice with his own, Drake begins to carry the beat along, making for a seamless “Grindin” transition. Lyrically, the song is all about that grind: grinding on the ladies, the daily work life, grinding that dope, but in typical Lil Wayne style, it’s not all serious. Rife with pop cultural references from Jay Z’s alleged affairs to Michael Jackson and James Bond, there’s plenty of clever wordplay for any rap music fan to enjoy. In this track the energy is supplied by Wayne, who exclaims, “ F**k double O seven,
I work
Ain’t got time to bond with no bitch .”
While I am not sure what Mr. Bond did to upset Wayne, it’s clear Weezy F. is aiming to land a second hit record on the Billboard Hot 100 with back-to-back collaborations with his cohort from the north. “Grindin” is the latest collaborative single between Young Money rappers Drake and Lil Wayne. It’s reported to be one of the lead singles off Wayne’s upcoming album Tha Carter V , due for release in just 14 days. The album drops on 28th October 2014.

Here are the lyrics to the single;

Artist: Lil Wayne (Feat Drake)
Album: Tha Carter V
Year: 2014

[Intro – Lil Wayne]
Grind, grind
Grindin’, grindin’
Grindin’, grind
Grind, grindin’

[Verse 1 – Lil Wayne]

Lord we be on every kind of narcotic that make

When we lyin’, we honest, I love you
Pick Michael Jackson to Jordan to Tyson to Myers
Too much dirty money when the colors…
Are washing the whites in the dryer, my nigga
It ain’t rocket science, just rockets
I sleep in pussy, not pajamas
Girl, I got this shit down to a science
I turn in my project, A minus
Woo, I ain’t crazy, I’m Krazy and all of my
niggas chaotic
Dressed in all black like they Gothic
Music too loud to hear sirens, we pop, pop, pop
up where you stay
Knock, knock, knock, anyone home?
Pop, pop, pop, pop then we out here
I need a bitch like Naomi to take off her
clothes like Leilani for niggas that’s grindin’

[Chorus – Lil Wayne]
Nigga I’m grindin’ for all my shit
Grindin’ for all my shit
Yeah I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I put time into all this shit
Man I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I’m grindin’ with all my shit
I’m grindin’ for all my shit

[Verse 2 – Lil Wayne]
The feds be spying on all of us nigga
These hoes be lying to all of us nigga
I got news for the monogamous niggas
Yo’ bitch fucking anonymous niggas
I done seen it all my nigga
Cause these hoes seeing all of my niggas
Cause what’s the hottest shit on these corners?
That’s me and all my niggas
Grind for all this shit, I ain’t ever fall for that
Cause picking up the feather from a lovebird is
like a medicine ball to that bitch
We’ll bring a Gucci bag in this bitch
And you know what’s stashed in that bitch
For niggas walkin’ around with they chests out
like Janet Jackson and shit
I’m sweatin’, grindin’ this bitch, I need a
shrine in this bitch
Fuck 007, I work 24/7, ain’t got time to bond
with no bitch
Heard Jay-Z got a new Cognac, where to find
that shit?
The weed sticky, grind that shit
Where I got it from? Never mind that shit

[Chorus – Lil Wayne]
Nigga I’m grindin’ for all my shit
Grindin’ for all my shit
Yeah I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I put time into all this shit
Man I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I’m grindin’ with all my shit
I’m grindin’ for all my shit

[Verse 3 – Drake]
I got a new vision for all my shit
I don’t know what to call that shit
I know I’m selling all of my cars
I’m selling all of my watches
I’m selling diamonds and all of that shit
Realized I don’t need that shit
I’m a different breed with this shit
I’m tryna turn M’s to B’s in this bitch
And I ain’t never paid to be with no bitch
I, I, I want that Brigitte Bardot hanging over
my bed, fifty mill in one room
You, you could ask anyone out here: “who
running the game?”
And they’ll tell you the truth, Man they’ll tell
Oh look they fuck with me now, I think they’re
hearin’ me now
Someone said: “nigga, they takin’ you seriously
I’m like: “I think they just might be scared of
me now”
But it’s all good, niggas wrong every day,
niggas wrong every day
Go! Goin’ to L.A. where I’m tryna get high and
do a song every day
Safe, we ain’t ever had to play it safe
I would rather stack it up and put it in a safe
Then peek inside the safe and see I’m runnin’
out of space
Motherfucker that’s grindin’

[Chorus – Lil Wayne]
Man I’m grindin’ for all my shit
Grindin’ for all my shit
Yeah I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I put time into all this shit
Man I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I’m grindin’ for all my shit
I’m grindin’ with all my shit
I’m grindin’ for all my shit

[Bridge – Lil Wayne]
Grind, grind, perfect timing
Grindin’, grindin’
Grindin’, grind
I would rather stack it up and put it in the
Than peek inside the safe and see I’m running
out of space
Believe that

[Verse 4 – Lil Wayne]
Scoob, find another oo-wop
Tell them niggas cool out
Cause it could be a motherfuckin’ shoot-out
Kidnap a nigga, beat the truth out
Moms pick the suit out
Top floor window, he get threw out
Deuce out, pussy bitches deuce out
Flyin’ all the crew out, they flew out
Invite ‘em to my new house, my new house
I’m fucking every night up in my new house
Cause bitch I worked too hard for this new
house, grindin’
I’m fucking every night up in my new house
Cause bitch I worked too hard for this new
house, I’m grindin’
I’m fucking every night up in my new house
Cause bitch I worked too hard for this new
house, I’m grindin’

[Outro – Euro]
Twap, twap
Twap, twap
In the new house, we got twap
